I then downloaded WordPress to my computer. I want to upload it and store it in new folder, for example [http://www.mynewsite.com/new](http://www.mynewsite.com/new)– to keep from overwriting the existing site. Will this work? * 2) My other question is I have no idea where or what to upload the files to? I thought it was via an ftp site- I have a temporary ftp host so I uploaded the wordpress files there but when I go to the website and bring up [http://www.mynewsite.com/new](http://www.mynewsite.com/new) nothing shows up to continue with the install and login. * What am I missing or not doing – I know it’s gotta be something simple I’m not figuring out… * Thanks! The domain name is still registered and being used on the clients existing site, which we don’t want to take down until the new site is ready to launch. * I’m having a hard time understanding where on the new host I’m supposed to put the wordpress files. I called the host and asked them about this and they said WordPress is already installed it’s just a matter of transferring the databases?? The only FTP information I received was the temporary ftp address. It’ fixed now but I had to have someone go into cPanel and edit the database structure. * Thanks for everyone who was helping!
