Thanks for contacting me about this. I have never been aware this was an issue. I will look into it and see if I can get it resolved.

What permission level does your user account have on your site? And are you sure the icon (lightning bolt) isn’t hidden by other plugins?

    Hi,

I have worked out the problem. I use the following plugin to stop auto updates.

    Disable All WordPress Updates
    Deactivate
Disables the theme, plugin and core update checking, the related cronjobs and notification system. Version 1.6.8 | By Oliver Schlöbe | Visit plugin site

When I disable this plugin the lighting bolt appears. The Pre* Party Resource Hints plugin still works. gtmetrix shows great figures when this plugin is enabled with no lighting bolt.

This indicates a conflict with these 2 plugins.

Thanks for noticing that. I am able to reproduce it locally. I will figure out a fix and submit an update when I get a chance.
