I’m finding the same thing.
Using Ultimate TinyMCE 3.8 and can’t enter anything in the window.
It is only compatible with the WP editor.
Suggestions?
Similar problem here. Can only save widget changes if in “text” mode on 3.5. This is a multisite running 3.5. Seems like it broke with 3.5.

WYSIWYG Widgets
I’m using WP 3.5, WYSIWYG Widgets 1.2 and Ultimate TinyMCE 3.9 and I found out how to make it work (it’s weird):
1. Insert the WYSIWYG widget to the sidebar (don’t type anything yet)
2. Press Save
3. Reload the Widgets page
4. Type whatever text and format you want in the WYSIWYG widget using the visual editor, but don’t save it yet
5. Switch from the Visual editor to the Text editor
6. While in the Text editor mode, press Save
This works for me.
Hi zoomlanski and itdoug,
Please follow this steps in order to create WYSIWYG Widgets.
– Back-up your existing WYSIWYG Widgets
– Update the WYSIWYG Widgets plugin to the latest version (2.0 atm)
– Create some WYSIWYG Widget “posts”
– Drag the WYSIWYG Widget to one of your widget areas and select which widget content to show.
Totally different approach but guaranteed to work across all browsers and platforms.
Hope that helped!
