[Resolved] Cannot edit pages when Vegas Slider is activated.

  • Hello there,

    I’ve been enjoying using your lovely plugin for a while now, but have suddenly run into an issue of not being able to edit pages while this plugin is activated (even when all other plugins are deactivated).

    When I edit a page, the page edit screen looks normal, but when I press save, the page refreshes with no changes having been made. I don’t know exactly when this issue started as I hadn’t edited pages on the site for about a month.

    The site is http://www.thecrystaltemple.com. I am using the Chameleon Theme by Elegant Themes. I can give you admin access if you would like.

    Thank you so much for all your hard work 🙂

    Amber

    What version of the plugin are you using?

    I think I know what the issue is. If you want to fix this yourself, go to Plugins -> Editor, then choose Vegas Slider from the drop down on the top right. It should say “Editing vegas-fullscreen-background-slider/index.php (active)” at the top of the page now. Scroll down to the very bottom and you’ll see something like this:

    function force_vegas_private($post){
    $vegas_options = get_option('vegas_options');
    $vegas_private = $vegas_options['vegas_private_posts'];
    if ($vegas_private == 1){

        if ($post['post_type'] == 'vegasslider') {
            if ($post['post_status'] != 'trash') $post['post_status'] = 'private';
        }
        return $post;
    }
    }
    add_filter('wp_insert_post_data', 'force_vegas_private');

    You can completely delete that. It’s unnecessary and I believe it to be the cause of the problem.

    If you want me to fix it for you, I’d be glad to. Just email with a login and password as well as the url to your website (You can create me a new login, whatever works for you).

    Thanks Amber!

    Wow that worked, thank you! 🙂 😀

    You’re welcome! I don’t know why that change didn’t come across in version 1.5 … 🙁 it should have.
