# Cannot edit anything!

 * I am really struggling with my site. I haven’t changed any content for about 
   10 months but now need to update my site; I have gone in to each separate page
   to try to make amendments and when I update nothing has changed,I have tried 
   deleting all codex, pages, media, widgets, title etc and still nothing. I then
   went into filezilla and deleted the wp-content file….and stopped there because
   I have absolutely no idea what I am doing?!
 * Could somebody please help me? I am getting very frustrated and desperately need
   to get my website updated.

 * [Reinstall WordPress manually](http://codex.wordpress.org/Updating_WordPress#Manual_Update)
   from a freshly downloaded copy **except** wp-content. Do not overwrite files/
   folders but delete them before reinstalling.
 * Use FTP or your hosting control panel if you cannot access dashboard.
    Backup
   your site including database so that you can restore in case anything goes wrong.
