 * I would recommend that you take a look at the error log; see also: [https://developer.wordpress.org/advanced-administration/wordpress/common-errors/#the-white-screen-of-death](https://developer.wordpress.org/advanced-administration/wordpress/common-errors/#the-white-screen-of-death)

 * Theme or plugin conflict is one possible cause. But before you disable your plugins,
check the browser console to view the errors and let us know what it says. To
do this, right Click anywhere on the page and select Inspect then go to console.
Try clicking edit on WordPress again and you will see the errors displayed on
the console. Copy and paste the errors you see here and will determine what’s
   causing the problem.

 * Thank you! I did disable and re-enable plug ins earlier, but no effect.
 * Here is the bit you asked for:
   ?page_id=679:1 Uncaught (in promise) InvalidStateError:
Transition was aborted because of invalid state. ViewTransition opt-in disabled

 * Thank you, threadi – it all looks so complicated and is purely caused because
I gave in and updated to latest version. Big mistake, it seems! I do feel there
should be some technical help available as I really don’t know what I am doing
and just want to edit like I could before 😔

 * What editor are you using? What theme? Are they up to date?
