• i’ve successfully completed a local backup successfully but whenever i press the ‘download’ button is says

    Forbidden

    You don’t have permission to access /site/wp-content/backups/WPOnlineBackup_08-07-2013_23-19-07_4_3aea47fdb6a5d72ac07b2af3a7596c9bbc6f1be8.zip on this server.

    Apache Server at http://www.girlsaglow.co.uk Port 80

    ive tried email and online backup but the files are too big (142.39mb) i’d really like to have a backup zip version- what can i do?

    Hi creativejunkie,

    Have you used another backup plugin at all? That may have restricted access to that folder.

    Please provide Help & Support tab information – I’ll assume you’re using Apache server though.

    You have 3 options:
    1. Download the backups via FTP, if you login via FTP and go to site/wp-content/backups you should see them
    2. Login via FTP and look for a file called .htaccess (this is assuming you are using Apache) inside site/wp-content/backups. If you delete this file it will let you download the files again. Just make sure index.html exists in there too it will stop people browsing the files.
    3. Do the same as in 2 where you delete .htaccess. Then login to your control panel and password protect the site/wp-content/backups folder instead. So instead of Forbidden, you get a user and password prompt.
