    please respond ASAP

it is impossible to remove plugin files — which means it has added something to the database

    can’t delete using WP admin
can’t delete using cpanel File manager

    can’t even delete social-warfare.php

    hacked?

    WTF?

    Hi @wasanajones

Did you try to delete from cPanel public_html/zomidaily.org/wp-content/plugins/social-warfare? Or just rename the plugin folder to something like 1social-warface which will deactivate the plugin. Cheers! Joseph

when I delete the folder, or even a file it returns

no other plugins are doing this

if I change the folder name, it still appears in plugins page

I have cleared all the caches I can think of – I have disabled all other plugins

I know it does not make any sense – but it is what is happening

    even worse

    version 3.6.1 Can’t update to 4.0
Update Failed: Could not remove the old plugin.

I renamed plugins folder and moved all other plugins to new folder

I downloaded v4. and uploaded to the renamed plugins folder to update social-warfare v3.6.1

one file will not transfer and is blocked somehow

    /social-warfare/.remote-sync.json

not sure what that json file is about but it doesn’t show in the original folder

even after update I still can’t delete the folder

my host was able to delete the file

FYI – issue apparently had something to do with write permissions. why this particular folder changed permissions is unknown
