Cannot delete a tag

    When I use Post Tags page to delete a tag either-

    using submenu Delete, item turns red and stays that way for hours. Refreshing shows that the number of Posts has decremented by a few out of hundreds or

    after ticking the box and Applying Bulk Action Delete in a short time goes to the 404 error screen.

    Any ideas?
