# Cannot create Static Homepage

 * I made a static homepage and it worked for a long time but now it doesn’t. When
   I’m in Settings>Reading and select the page I want for my static homepage then
   hit Save Changes, the selection for FRONTPAGE: reverts back to “MAIN PAGE (no
   parent)”.
 * Because of this, when a visitor comes to my site they don’t get taken to the 
   Homepage where all my “Welcome” text is, all they see is text saying;
    “Not Found
   Sorry, but you are looking for something that isn’t here.”, followed by a search
   box.
 * Does anybody know how I can correct this so it works again?

 * Is your welcome page named front-page.php ? As when i saved my home page to that
   and have the index.php for my blog page it worked without even changing the settings
   for the home page.

 * My “Welcome” page is titled “Home”, I have managed to remove the default “home”
   link in the nav bar. No matter what page I try to use for the Static Home Page,
   It doesn’t work and I just get a blank page when loading the website.
 * It used to work ok and I cant understand why it’s not working anymore as I havent
   changed any important php files. I don’t want to have to delete wordpress and
   re-install and have to create all my child sites again.

 * Thanks Chinmoy but I already know the process of making a static homepage. My
   problem is it no longer works.
