When I attempt to run BackWPUp Free, it gives me an error message that it cannot create a folder inside /wp-content/uploads . However, it can create a temporary folder OK. I checked the folder permissions for uploads and it is 755.

Without this hurdle, it cannot backup anywhere, e-mail, DropBox or simple local folder.

    Hello,

the rights that must be set depends on the server configuration and if PHP running in cgi or as apache2handler. Will mean it can be that you must give 777 for uploads to fix this.

Thank you, I will try the permissions. However, as I indicated in the original message BackWPUp CAN create a temporary folder fine. Would the permissions not prevent it from doing that? I also created folders and specified the new folder names in the configuration, but it could still not continue.

I will let you know if 777 works, but I will be a little uncomfortable with full rights given to anyone.

I am writing to close the loop. I have changed the permissions for /wp-content/uploads folder to 775 and BackWPUp worked. It can save to a folder or upload to DropBox. Thanks,

    Cemal
