# Cannot continue setup – Error getting Google Ads status, Continue disabled

 * Hi,
 * I’m having trouble finishing the account setup for Google for WooCommerce (Google
   Listings & Ads) plugin. I noticed a similar report from [@msc999](https://wordpress.org/support/users/msc999/)
   in this topic:

 * What happens:
 * On the “Set up your accounts” screen, my Google account connects successfully
   and shows the correct details:
    - Google account: [joolaromania@gmail.com](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/cannot-continue-setup-error-getting-google-ads-status-continue-disabled/joolaromania@gmail.com?output_format=md)
    - Merchant Center ID: 5843311919
    - Google Ads ID: 7814697245
 * However, I get this error message:
   “There was an error getting the status of 
   your Google Ads account. Please reconnect your Google account.”
 * The “Continue” button stays disabled, so I cannot proceed with the setup no matter
   how many times I reconnect the Google account.
 * Here is my WooCommerce System Status Report:

 * Note: it’s set to “Burn after read” for privacy, so it will only work once —

 * Thanks for providing the detailed information and the System Status Report. I
   understand that your Google account connects successfully and the correct Merchant
   Center and Google Ads IDs are displayed, but you’re receiving the **“There was
   an error getting the status of your Google Ads account”** message and the **Continue**
   button remains disabled.
 * I’ve checked the System Status Report you provided, and everything appears to
   be in order from what I can see on my end.
 * To help us narrow down the cause, could you please try the following conflict
   test:
    1. Clear your site/server cache.
    2. Temporarily deactivate all plugins except **WooCommerce** and **Google for WooCommerce**
    3. Switch to a default WordPress theme, such as **Storefront**.
    4. Reconnect your Google account and check whether you’re then able to complete
       the setup.
 * I recommend performing this test on a **[staging site](https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-staging/)**
   so your live site remains unaffected.
 * If the setup works correctly with only WooCommerce, Google for WooCommerce, and
   the default theme active, we can then narrow down which plugin or theme may be
   causing the conflict.
