# Cannot connect to QL server

 * I encountered an error in which the system said:
    Cannot connect to QuickLaTeX
   server: Failed to connect to [http://www.quicklatex.com](http://www.quicklatex.com)
   port 80: Connection timed out Please make sure your server/PHP settings allow
   HTTP requests to external resources (“allow_url_fopen”, etc.)
 * I don’t know what happen. I think I don’t do anything wrong.
    This happened after
   I paid for my one-year hosting. I have read the same thread and it seems that
   my IP is blocked by the server. Please exclude it. I have used this plugin for
   one year and I enjoyed it very much.

 * What settings should I looking for?

 * Error message includes all the details:
    “Please make sure your server/PHP settings
   allow HTTP requests to external resources (“allow_url_fopen”, etc.)”
 * Also check with your hosting (if you use any).

 * I have enabled allow_url_fopen and changing PHP version of the hosting settings,
   but no avail.
    Do you have any idea on how to clear this one?

 * I just tested my plugin — works fine.
 * I must turn off “Insert Math” and turn on “WP QuickLatex”.
    They conflict.
 * As for ISP, get to a shell and enter: ping <foo> .
    Where <foo> is the IP adress
   of the target machine.
