I have two pro installations and I was trying to create a third on another site when I got the “Wordfence could not get an API key from the Wordfence scanning servers when it activated etc”

It wouldn’t save anything and I got an annoying “Congratulations” popup everytime I move anywhere in the admin area.

I checked on my other two sites with the pro installation which has been working fine and they were also acting the same and all the options were gone – it was as if they were new installations.

I tried the SSH to telnet noc1.wordfence.com 80 and telnet noc1.wordfence.com 443 and that worked fine.

The three sites are on the same server.

    Any suggestions?

    HI Guys,
I have noticed that it could be something to do admin-ajax.php? Any assistance would be great. I have three active pro version which are not protecting my sites ie I have paid for software which is not working and I need a solution.

    Cheers

Okay – I solved my own problem by asking my server guys to
enable or install the innodb storage engine for mysql on the server

    Cheers

Interesting. I can tell you that innodb should work better for you, especially if you have a high traffic site with lots of comments. A few of the commercial sites I manage for benefitted from this, though we did not have your initial problem.

The problem you mention might have been solved by checking the disable config caching option on the options page (near bottom).
