Hello I have a website named, candidcompanion.com, whenever I am trying to connect the google site kit with the site I am getting this error, “The necessary verification token could not be found on your site. This may be related to your site using a page caching plugin. Please flush your home page cache and then try again.”. I have tried deactivating all the plugins and using plugin to clear the cache of the website but i am still unable to complete the setting. I am not a tech savvy person. Can anyone please help me. I am in dire need.

    Thank you.

    Hi there @mitanananya1234,

Thanks for getting in touch! Hopefully we can identify the issue here and get Site Kit working on your site.

Can you please share your Site Health information privately via this form? Can you also tell me if you see any notices in your Site Health status?

@mitanananya1234 Thank you for sharing your Site Health info! I see a few things here that could be related to the trouble.

I notice in reviewing it that there appears to be a mismatch between your site URL as defined in WordPress (https://candidcompanion.com/) and your Search Console property (http://candidcompanion.com/). Google and Search Console considers these to be two different URLs because of the different http/https protocol.

Your Site Health shows that you do currently have a Search Console property successfully connected in Site Kit, so can you tell me what you see when you go to Site Kit > Settings > Connected Services > Search Console?

Finally, can you tell me at what point in the setup flow this error message is displaying? Are you able to successfully complete the “Verify site ownership” step?

    Thank you!

Hello @shetheliving , I am not getting that option on the site kit. the only thing that is showing on my site kit is “Dashboard” and when I am clicking on that it I am getting the “Sign in with Google” option. when I am trying to sign-in on the first step where it saying “Proceed” and asking to verify the ownership there I am getting that error.

Thank you so much for listening to me.

    Hello @mitanananya1234 ,

Can you ask your host provider to upgrade the PHP version from 7.2.34 to 7.4? After upgrading PHP give a try to setup Site Kit again.

Also can you please confirm did you make any changes to .htaccess file? If yes then please review those changes first.

    Best Regards,
