# cannot change text editor to visual html

 * Can anyone please tell me what the fix is

    Disable the visual editor when
   writing is not checked.

 * Thanks for the advice webjunk but I don’t appear to have a checkbox or option
   for that in my user profile. I have just updated to 2.7.1 from 2.3 or something
   and it was working fine before so could it be related to the upgrade?

 * Ah found the problem thanks to investigation re that checkbox missing. I did 
   not have all the files from the wp-includes directory uploaded – particularly
   the js one which holds the TinyMCE program
 * Phew
