# Cannot change permalink "-2"

 * Some of my website pages are stuck with the “-2” at the end of the permalinks,
   although there are no copies of these pages. I deleted them. What could be stopping
   it from changing?

 * – have you checked trash bin, draft bin?
 * – have you tried flushing any caching plugins you might be running, as well as
   server and/or browser caches.
 * – If the above steps don’t help, try resetting your custom permalinks back to
   the default setting and renaming your WordPress .htaccess file. If that works,
   then try reading [Using_Permalinks ](http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks)
   before setting a custom permalink structure again.
