On my site, it is not possible to change from list to month view or vice versa. All it does, is reload the same page and append the slug with either (/?:list)/ or (/?:month)/. When I try to access these renamed pages directly, I get a 404 error. When I append “[…]/veranstaltungen/” manually with “list/” or “month/”, I am able to access the correct views.
I have read several threads about a similar, if not identical, problem to mine, but their solutions did not help:
- changing my user language from English (United States) to Site Default
- changing the Permalink Structure from Post Name to Plain and back again
- putting the pages “/veranstaltungen”, “/event” as well as the css and js under “/wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/” and “/wp-content/plugins/event-tickets/” in my list of Minify and Page Cache exceptions
- renaming the Events URL Slug back to “events”
- using the default Twenty Twenty-Three theme
- using the Skeleton Styles calendar display
- unchecking “Enable the Month View Cache”
I always purge all caches and look at my site in a private browser window in which I am not logged in.
I’m running out of ideas here. Can you please help me?

I have the same problem but only on mobile and tablet. If I click next or previous in list view, the screen briefly gets a pale grey overlay and then reverts to the same data. If I click on month view, the same thing happens.
This used to work so I don’t think I installed or configured it wrong.Hello, I have also this problem when I’am on “month” and I would like comeback to “list”. List link is not active.
I do “days” and again “list” to comeback to “list”.Hello @quadratblick,
Thanks for reaching out to us about this. I’m happy to help.
Is this issue recent or has it been ongoing? Did you notice it after a recent theme or plugin update?
I see that you have the W3 Total Cache plugin installed. Can you take a look at the following knowledgebase article about using W3 Total Cache with our plugins? Specifically, the minification section and you’ll also want to exclude your /event and /events pages from being cached.
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/k/using-the-events-calendar-with-w3tc/
Please let me know if this helps.
Thank you so much,
Chad
Hey Chad!
There is no point in time where I remember this working correctly. However, this whole website is relatively new, so I don’t know if that means much :-/.
I have already done what you suggested, as you can see under point 3 of my OP :). While this has taken care of a lot of other problems (no styling, search not working, etc.), this one still persists.
Thank you for your assistance!
I notice that there are no .js files under “/wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/(.*).js”. Does the expression “(.*)” really account for subfolders?
Because if not, maybe there need to be several .js and .css exceptions, all of which point to the files under “/wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/vendor/” and “/wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/src/resources” individually? And the same for the Event Tickets add-on?
I had this notion because my front page sometimes throws a console error now that points to “var tribe_tickets_rsvp” in a minified .js file. I wondered how this variable could come up in a minified .js file even though they should be on the exception list.
Hello @cmccullough1967 I am using a different caching tool (WP fastest cache), and your suggestion of excluding all events pages from the solved the problem on my site. Thanks!
Hi @jenjenjet,
Thank you for the update. I’m happy this resolved the issue for you.
Hi @quadratblick,
Thank you for the additional information. I noticed that you have two caching plugins installed. We’ve seen this cause a bottleneck of sorts with other customers. Is there a reason that you have two cache plugins installed and active? I would try disabling WP-Optimize to see if this helps with this issue.
Thank you so much,
Chad
That’s wild: The update to Version 6.0.7 has done it for me!
And just to answer your question: I don’t use WP-Optimize as a caching plugin, but only for its database cleanup :).
Thank you for the update, @quadratblick. I’m very happy to see the latest update resolved this issue for you.
Thank you so much,
Chad
