 * When I authorize Dropbox, it looks like everything goes through okay. But when
   I’m redirected back to the Dropbox setting screen, it says I have not authorized.

 * Hi jetlej , coming back to your question. The authentication issue is likely
   to be caused by something interfering while BackWPup tries to connect to the
   other server in order to send its authentication request. That “something” can
   be a) a caching plugin, or b) the hosting company when it doesn’t allow for external
   connections other than to wordpress.org.
    Do you run a caching plugin on your
   site? Who’s your webhost?

 * I use W3 Total Cache. It’s definitely not my dedicated server on SoftLayer.
 * But I know that W3TC does not cache any admin pages, could that still be the
   issue?

 * Hi jetlej,
 * we had some troubles with W3TC and our plugin. Please try to authenticate with
   dropbox when this plugin is disabled.
 * regards,
    Robert

 * For the record, there are a couple of possible causes to this issue:
    - WordPress cannot make external requests (host resticitons)
    - A caching plugin caches transients, so BackWPup is served a wrong authcode
      or no authcode at all.
    - Another plugin may be interfering.
