League Standings
[resolved] cannot assign a team to its league (8 posts)

    Hello Mark,

I created a new league, then I added a new team, but when I want to assign that team to its league (using the form at the right where it says "Choose from the most used Leagues" with URL /wp-admin/post-new.php?post_type=league_team#titlediv) nothing happens.
The same if I try to enter manually the name of the league.
One question: do I have to enter the full name, or the abbreviation?

    Hi webby1973,
Thanks for writing. I have not seen this behavior. Hummm .... what exactly do you mean by 'nothing happens'?

If you select a league from the 'Most Used Leagues', you will see the League NAMES but the League SLUGS are stored in the DB and used by the software. So enter the League SLUG manually.

    Let me know.

I mean that when I click inside the "Most Used Leagues" field nothing appears. I cannot select anything. Even if I manually write the name of the league, it's not saved.
Where should I check the slugs?
I'm using WP 3.8 multisite for the test.

Okay. It's unlikely that there will be any "Most Used Leagues" if you have yet to assign a team to a league. You will need to use the slugs to get started. They are displayed on the Leagues admin screen.

That's what I did right now, starting from scratch:
    1) Leagues section: Add new league and filled all the fields;
    2) Add new team section: created a new team, I cannot enter the slug (the same created in League section) of the team.
    See the screenshots.

    Hi webby1973,
Thanks for the screenshots. They always help. The first thing that jumps out at me is that slugs are always lower case. If you try to set the league slug (Abbreviazione) to "BF", it should be changed in the software to 'bf'. If not, that's a bug, make it lower case. Have you read the plugin's fine manual? It might help you. You can also see the plugin in action, along with some implementation clues on the MSTW development site.

    Hi Mark,

I know slugs are usually lower case, and yes they are automatically changed to proper case :) it is "bf".
I can't assign the league to the team. When I click the "Add" button under the slug field (on the team page), nothing happens.
Is there something I can do to help in debugging?

    Hi webby,
I'm confused. I can't find an "Add" button or a "slug field" on the team page. Are you talking about the slug on the LEAGUES screen or the LEAGUES METABOX on the ADD/EDIT TEAM screen? I see both screenshots, so I'm not sure. It does seem to be working on my development site. Is it possible the "Configure Rich Snippet" box from your theme or some other plugin is interfering somehow. You might try deactivating that and see if things work better.

    Let me know.
