I cannot create new topics, the message is Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page. I am the admin for my site, why can’t I create new topics?

Is this a new install or an upgrade? If you are an admin then there should be no issue with you accessing admin screens to add a new event.

This happened just after the last upgrade a couple of days ago.

So can you view the other tdih admin screens (list, event types and so on)?

Nothing changed security wise. Yon need the manage_tdih_events capability which is given to admin on installation – for an upgrade this did not change.

    Yes, everything else works fine.

So can you view the Add and Edit pages and get this error when you enter (or save changes to) the event? i.e. you can see the screen and enter an event but not save it?

I cannot view the Add New screen at all. When I click on Add New the message shows up immediately.

I can view, edit, and save All Events and Event Types.

That’s odd because the same code does both screens. What version of WP do you have?

    Thread Starter smhughey

    4.9.7

I’m not sure what’s happening here. Can you try downloading the plugin code and uploading it manually – replacing the entire this-day-in-history directory.

Will I lose all my entries?

No, not if you just replace the plugin files – since it is the same version and should be the same files (although backup your database just in case). You will lose them if you delete it from the Plugins screen and re-add it there so don’t try it that way.

Out of interest what is your php version?

    Thread Starter smhughey

    (@smhughey)

    PHP Version 5.6.30

    Just installed PHP 7

I’m using 7.1.6 but I don’t think that I’m using anything that new. Do you have any errors in your logs?

Had to go back to php 5.6 Version 7 did not play well.
