# Cannot add a link to posts

 * I’ve been using WordPress on this site for over a year and suddenly I cannot 
   add a hyperlink to text. It will only me to add it when I switch to text view.
   When I highlight text and hit the insert link button it does nothing.
 * I’ve updated all of the plugins and WP itself. And prior to two weeks ago I had
   no issues. Any ideas?

 * What theme are you using?
    Have you added any new plugins recently?

 * If this happened after updating to 4.5.2 the link creation tool is a little different.
   After you highlite the text and enter the link into the field input and then 
   you have to click the blue arrow button in the popup box.
 * I had the same issue and I was hitting “Return” to enter in the link but it wasn’t
   creating the link. You have to click the blue button.
 * If that’s not the issue, it may be a theme/plugin conflict like allisonplus asked
   about.

 * I’m running a Genesis child theme. I just deactivated all plugins and the problem
   is still existing.
    I don’t even get a pop-up when I click on the add link button.

 * Hmm…. Switch out of that into the 2016 Theme. Then go in and try to add the link.
 * If that fixes it, then I would say the conflict is in Genesis.

 * Why can I no longer add hyperlinks to my blog? I could do so yesterday. I have
   made no WordPress updates. Any suggestions on what I can try? I rebooted and 
   that didn’t help. Thanks.
