Hi, I’m trying to activate the Google Analytics for WordPress plugin. Trying to do this by clicking on “select which Analytics Profile to track” in my WP dashboard.

The problem is, the site I’m trying to add GA to does not show up in the Account drop-down on the “Google Analytics for WordPress Configuration” page.

The only other thing I can think of is to create a new account right in Google Analytics, but it gives me this code snippet which confuses me because I have no idea where to put the snippet.

Any ideas/suggestions would be most appreciated!

    Thanks in advance,

    Steve

With the code that GA provides you all you have to do is add it to your header.php.

Go in Appearance > Editor click on the header file in the right hand column.

Go near the bottom and look for </head>

Place the GA code right above it, save the file and delete the plugin.

You really don’t need a plugin to do this.
