  • Try:
    – switching to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and the wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    – running the upgrade manually via wp-admin/upgrade.php

    thanks esmi.

I tried resetting the plugins folder via php but it has had no effect on being able to login to wp-admin.

I just get the page below when trying to visit the admin panel login page:

    http://paulspacey.com/not_found

might be worth mentioning; when I go into my phpMyAdmin, some of the folders are not names wp_options etc etc but instead have the prefix as per below:

    si6iujesom_options

I don’t recognise the si6iujesom username, the php isn’t compromised it is it?

I’m not that tech advanced so thanks for your help.

What you are viewing in Phpmyadmin are not folders but databases. And they can have pretty much any name.
