Support » Fixing WordPress » Cannot access Admin Panel

  • Hi,

I am new to this but currently I am having the problem of accessing the main admin panel. When I try to login into the site admin panel this appears but the front end of the site still works.

Has anyone encountered this problem and is there any way around it. Thank you.

Also here is the front end

You have an internal wordpress problem in http://coffeemachinesblog.com.au/, where Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘<‘ in /home/blogmach/public_html/wp-content/themes/papyrus/functions.php on line 15 Accessing the content may help.

    Try this
    http://coffeemachinesblog.com/wp-admin

    Your theme has an error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected <‘ in /home/blogmach/public_html/wp-content/themes/papyrus/functions.php on line 15

That error message is pretty self-explanatory. On line 15 of the file /wp-content/themes/papyrus/functions.php there is a ‘<‘ character that should not be there. Check on that line and you should see where the error is.

The problem is that I cannot access it because this appears when I try to get there and get the ‘<‘ out.

I know that’s what appears. I saw that.

That is telling you that you have an error in your themes functions.php file, and you need to fix that up. When you do that, the site will work again. If you don’t do that, your site will remain broken.

You do not do this in the admin area. You do this by editing the file locally and re-uploading it to your web server. If you’re lucky, your server might have some built-in file editing functionality.

Please login into your FTP account and replace ‘<‘ it.
