 * Blog has been up for two days and I woke up this morning to see.
 * Can’t select database
 * We were able to connect to the database server (which means your username and
   password is okay) but not able to select the masjid database.
 * * Are you sure it exists?
    * On some systems the name of your database is prefixed
   with your username, so it would be like username_wordpress. Could that be the
   problem?
 * If you don’t know how to setup a database you should contact your host. If all
   else fails you may find help at the WordPress Support Forums.
 * help please?

 * Have you already checked (for example with phpMyAdmin) that your database is
   still there? Is the database name still correct in your wp-config.php?

 * I have the same problem. The database was set up in phpMyAdmin. No instructions
   were given about setting up a table or fields. When I check the database, I’m
   told that there are no tables/fields set. Could this be a problem? I do not know
   how to set tables and fields in an SQL database.

 * publisher, the wp install will populate the database with the appropriate tables
   etc. assuming you completed the install procedure correctly. Yours isn’t the
   same problem as the OP’s – his install was complete and THEN “disappeared” into
   database neverneverland. Yours hasn’t completed the install as yet it would seem.
 * Apparently you uploaded all the files to the correct space. You say you created
   the db in phpmyadmin. Did you create a user and attach that user to the wp database?
   Once that’s done, then you need to open a browser window, and type into the addy
   bar [http://path/to/your/wpblog/install/install.php](http://path/to/your/wpblog/install/install.php)–
   and follow the instructions to complete the install.

 * Created a user and attached the user to the wordpress database. Went to the browser
   and typed [http://www.londoncircle.com/blog/wp-admin/install.php](http://www.londoncircle.com/blog/wp-admin/install.php)(
   as per instructions). Just tried [http://www.londoncircle.com/blog/install/install.php](http://www.londoncircle.com/blog/install/install.php)
   I get the message 404 File not found. Not sure I understand the URL addy you
   note above. All files and folders were uploaded to the directory blog. Am I doing
   something wrong?

 * I guess it was just a typo… Your address (wp-admin/install.php) is OK, since
   you can see the error message.
    Are you using cPanel or Ensim or Plesk or vDeck
   to access your site? Maybe you can find some useful info here: [http://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/](http://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/)(
   look under the Install section)

 * Yah sorry – typing too fast ahead of my brain. Moshu’s right….

 * SUCCESS!! Went to [http://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/](http://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/)
   and went through the cpanel work. I had screwed up big time by not connecting
   the user to the db. Thanks for your help. If I had done everything correctly
   from the start, it would have been one of the easiest installations I have ever
   work with.
    Thanks again, Moshu and Vkaryl, for the help Publisher
