Support » Plugin: Genesis eNews Extended » Can you use eNews widget for Jetpack Subscription service?

I don’t understand how all of this works, to be honest. I have the Adorable theme from StudioPress and I used the old eNews widget with Feedburner. The old eNews widget was stylized by my theme and looked like this.

I switched to Jetpack Subscriptions because I like the service better than Feedburner, but I haven’t been able to figure out how to get the Jetpack Subscription widget to look like the eNews widget.

The theme author suggested that I use the eNews Extended widget, but I don’t want to switch back to Feedburner and I don’t understand how to setup the widget using another service. Is there a tutorial that explains what I need to put into the Form Action field, E-mail Field, etc.? How do I hide the name fields? Can this widget be used with Jetpack Subscriptions as the service provider?

I’m sorry for asking such dumb questions, but thanks in advance for any help that’s offered.

    Hi Christine,

Not dumb questions as all! The immediate short answer is: I’m not sure. It’s not as straight forward as other providers. I’m digging into it.

Truthfully, though, it may be easier to edit your CSS to make JetPack match the theme’s style.

I’m checking into it. In the meantime, what’s the URL of your site?

    Hi Brandon,

Thank you for following up with me! My site URL is http://www.bluegrassblogger.com. I have since received help from someone with JetPack to help me stylize the widget. I like the ease of customization with the eNews Widget (ex: being able to customize the e-mail input text), but I like the JetPack subscription service over the services provided by those who are compatible with eNews.

If the JetPack subscription service ever becomes compatible with the eNews widget, I’ll definitely switch.

Thank you again for your time!

Was just researching the same issue so I won’t create a new thread however just wanted to suggest that Jetpack support would be much appreciated if feasible and it makes sense as it is a heavily downloaded plugin (for obvious reasons).

The new Jetpack shortcode has allowed us to put the email capture form anywhere but the real problem is styling capabilities. Their shortcode would be much more useful if you could pass in some class info… perhaps they’ll add it in the future.

    Cheers.
