Can you track web stats for individual promos on click through

    I’m currently researching suitable widgets/plugin for a quote so no existing site yet, what I need is do pretty much everything that the Promotion Slider does but with the added ability to track stats on the number of site visitors that click through on a specific ad promotion so if there were 5 ads or slides within the plugin which specific ads visitors clicked through and the number of click throughs … can this data be recorded and displayed in monthly web stats?

    Kira,

    The Promotion Slider plugin was originally designed with exactly what you are trying to do in mind. However, rather than try to build in the ad tracking functionality, I have provided an easy way to include this functionality through a third party.

    I highly recommend OpenX as an ad server and impression/click tracking service. They offer a free open-source software you can install to run things from your own server, or you can take advantage of their hosted options.

    Once you setup OpenX, just paste your ad or zone code in the ‘Ad Code’ section on a promotion. The ads will be loaded as prescribed by your OpenX settings and will rotate through using the Promotion Slider settings.

    I tried Openx in my website so I highly recommend OpenX as an ad server and impression/click tracking service.
