• Hi Eli! I have been running Wordfence to protect my site but when I got this error mention I started looking around and found your plugin. I started the free scan yesterday morning around 10:00 a.m. and it is still running nearly 24 hours later. Is that normal? Nothing is showing as a problem but I just ran Wordfence again and it said,

[Jul 28 08:50:21] Notice: Undefined index: coreUnknown in /home/coachell/public_html/smartliving365.com/wp-content/plugins/wordfence/lib/wordfenceHash.php on line 141

If I donate the $29 for the upgrade on your plugin that is supposed to help with “core” issues, will that fix it? If yes, I would be happy to pay you the $29 but if not I’m going to have to pay someone else to fix it.

Your advice would be greatly appreciated. ~Kathy

Notice: Undefined index: coreUnknown in … wordfence

This error has nothing to do with the core scan in my plugin, so downloading my core files definitions is not likely to fix that particular error. However you could ask your host about changing the PHP settings so that “Notices” are not displayed. That may also fix the slow scanning issue you are having with my plugin, it should not be taking that long.

Other problems that may cause slow scanning might include large cache folders or garbage directories with thousands of temp files, or javascript errors that cause the scan page to timeout or throw errors to your browser. You should clear your server’s cache files and delete any temp file in the document root and check your browsers error console when scanning. You could also check the error_log files on your server to see if there is something there that’s a problem while scanning.
