Can you help explain to me how this video library page is structured please?

Hello all,

I am creating a membership based subscription site, from scratch, with Thesis 2.0. I am trying to replicate the functionality and layout of a video-membership site of which I used to be a member, and I need to figure out how the video library page is structured.

As you can see, this is the page where video content is listed by showing a preview and brief description of each video and then linking to the video on its own, individual page. There is also a search and filter function.

I am new to wordpress so I’m not sure what type of page or post this main catalog is, and also the individual uploads. Also are the search/filter functions plugins, widgets or just something that a manual script was written for?
