Can you exclude image information from a search function (not results)?

  • I have a page with images that I would like to exclude from a search. I have used ‘Simply Exclude’ but after some testing, it seems that the search function still searches through image information – title, alt link etc) and displays this as results.

My current blog set up has images that are used in individual posts and are collated on a page – so when I search I get the Page AND the post in the results.

Is there away to edit the search function to JUST search text on a post? That way I could exclude the Page altogether.

  • This should now be fixed in version 1.6 of the Simply Exclude plugin. Just uploaded to SVN this evening. Along with some other changed for handling searches within the admin. Some cosmetic cleanup to make the plugins pages look more WP 2.5-ish.
