Can WP support more than just a blog?

Hi! I am wondering if I can continue to use WP (for my entire site) or if I will need to change to another CMS. I currenly use WP for my news section, but I want to use a CMS for my entire site. I also want to do more “article” type stuff. Is it a good idea to stick with WP or do I need to change to something else?
