Can WordPress handle a lot of traffic and orders?

  • teekay235

    @teekay235

    Is WordPress capable of handling a large website using woo-commerce and gravity forms, that processes over 2000 orders a day?

    Some have told me yes, others have said it should be a database driven site – but isn’t that what WP is?

    Any insight would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    You are right. WordPress is a database-driven site. I don’t know who tried to tell you that it’s not, but they obviously don’t know much about it.

    As for if it will handle your load, it should but it depends almost 100% on how powerful your server is. I’ve seen some servers that will handle that easily (plus a whole lot more) and some that will buckle if you get 5 concurrent users. The only suggestion that I’d have is to try it and see. You can normally upgrade a servers resources pretty easily, and if it’s a VPS it’s a whole lot eaiser.
