We’ve been trying to get a detailed monthly sales report, itemizing the products and cost for each sale. We think we’ve been able to do that before but can’t find it now. We’ve checked Orders, Reports, and several sections in the Analytics category but haven’t found a report with explicit details that show up when we check the order details individually.
I understand how important it is to have detailed sales reports. It sounds like the Product Sales Report might be what you need.
This can be found under Analytics → Orders. From there, you can choose the date range for your report and see the itemized products and costs for orders made. As shown in this screenshot from my test site: https://snipboard.io/o6OMAs.jpg
You can also click the dropdown for Show → Advanced Filters to get a more focused view. If you want to download the report as a CSV file, that’s possible too.
I did as you suggested but the on-screen result only shows one item for orders with multiple items, it shows a “+2 items” button to display a pop-up showing the additional items. Your image appears to show each item for multiple item orders on a separate line with the same order info.
I don’t see a dropdown for Show -> Advanced Filters which might have displayed the multiple items.
I did get a download and the file concatenates all the items in the Products column, but unfortunately not a multiple line breakdown as your screenshot appears to show. We would dearly like to have that kind of breakdown as we’re trying to resolve some income discrepancies.
Is there something we’re missing or a setting we don’t have right?
Ah! I see what you mean, you’re looking for a report that lists each product, instead of a report by order, which groups everything in the cart together. Those order orders that show “+1 more” under the product column on your screenshot.

About Show → Advanced Filters under ‘Orders’ it lets you filter out specifics about the orders but doesn’t show the itemized products under the cart. The ‘products’ analytics should have that as seen on the video.

I’m afraid I don’t see any relevance to our issue in the video you linked. Is it possible you linked the wrong video, or am I just missing the connection? Our WordPress Dashboard view of the Products tab just shows the #Items Sold, Net Sales and #Orders, no further breakdown by Order. Should I conclude there is no way to display or download the breakdown we’re looking for?
Is there any chance this issue could be addressed by your plugin developers? You have all the Products compiled for each order so it seems like it would be fairly easy for a multiple item order to print a separate line showing the quantity and price of each separate item in a multiple item order.
BTW – I did find the link to show Advanced Filters under the Show dropdown above the graph, but as you indicate, it does not help with our issue.
The product tab should show a breakdown of purchases made within a chosen date range, and the orders tab should display the order numbers or the consolidated number of products bought by each customer. For example, if a customer buys 3 products and checks out, they’ll have 1 order listed in the orders tab. However, if you need a detailed list of each product they purchased, you can check the product tab where those products are listed individually.
As an option, there are several analytics plugins that integrate with WooCommerce to provide more in-depth sales reporting. Such as ‘Sales Analysis for WooCommerce‘ that offers advanced reporting for Marketers & Managers. Or ‘Metorik‘ which gives you real-time reports, detailed order and product data, and customer insights.
You can explore these to find what suits your needs best or check out other third-party analytics tools from the WooCommerce Extensions Store. Hope this helps.
Thanks Reynier, but it looks like what we need isn’t possible with WooCommerce or the extensions. Just to be clear I’m adding an image showing a line by line breakdown of 3 different orders, each with multiple items purchased in the order. As I suggested before, it seems like this would be relatively easy to implement in the base Analysis>Orders display in the plugin since all the detailed order data is already contained but currently hidden behind a +1, +2 or +3 button in the display.
Just trying to offer a useful suggestion for a slight improvement of your powerful plugin.
