We need to be able to categorize stores and return results based on both store category and distance and sometimes display one, two, or three locations based on certain other parameters. Can we make those types of customizations and is there documentation on how to do the coding?

You can overwrite the existing SQL query with this filter, and use extra placeholders with this filter.

You can see the full code used to collect the data in the find_nearby_locations() in the /frontend/class-frontend.php.

If you want to change the sort order then you can use this code.
