    Hello!

This customer does not sell personal info, and as such, they’ve asked us to remove all references to the term on the site. We seem to be unable to edit the header on the auto generated Cookie Policy page.

They would like to change the heading text on this page to read “Cookie Policy”, instead of “Do Not Sell My Personal Information”.

    Is this possible?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @simplexdev,

This legal document is automatically renamed between “Cookie Policy (US)” and “Do Not Sell My Personal Information”, based on two factors:

    1. Does the site target California residents
    2. Does the site “sell’ information (in terms of the CCPA, indicated via the Wizard -> General -> Purpose)

If both are relevant, the document will be named DNSMPI. This exact name is required by the CCPA. The definition of “selling data” needs to be interpreted broadly:

“selling, renting, releasing, disclosing, disseminating, making available, transferring, or otherwise communicating orally, in writing, or by electronic or other means, a consumer’s personal information by the business to another business or a third party for monetary or other valuable consideration.”

A common example would be using Google Analytics and allowing Google to use the data for their own purposes. This is also considered “selling” the data to Google.

Let me know if you have any further questions. For more information about the CCPA, please refer to our articles: https://complianz.io/ccpa-wordpress-plugin/ and https://complianz.io/questions-about-the-ccpa/

    Kind regards,
    Leon

    Hi @simplexdev,

A bit more information; you can change the page title without issues, as long as the shortcode or Gutenberg block remains.

Following Leon’s advice on how to make it a Cookie Policy, will remove all references to DNSMPI as well.

    regards Aert
