Can we activated this plugin on Staging server?

Hello,

We have copy our production server to the staging server for the testing purpose.
I want to know that if we activate this plugin on staging so it will be causing
merging the images from stating to Production website. Or we need to disable this plugin on the staging website..?

I need to know that live website get issue if i am updating any content here in staging as we have same pair of keys on both domain.
