Can use dashboard but can't access site – localhost?

I am moving my live blog http://www.goodbyeukhelloworld.com to a local host prior to the domain expiring.

I have setup Xampp and installed WordPress. I have exported the site via wordpress export/import plug-in and have imported to my local host site along with duplicating my theme between platforms.

All appears well within the dashboard listing all posts, media etc. And when previewing the site via selection of themes all appears as per the on site blog.

Unfortunately when I leave:

http://localhost/goodbyeukhelloworld_offline/wp-admin/update-core.php

and switch to:

http://localhost/goodbyeukhelloworld_offline/

the page can’t be found?

Any ideas please.
