  • Please help, I’ve dragged my gif file into Images but when I then go to upload them in wordpress using the image button on the editor tool bar, I get this error message.

The uploaded file could not be moved to /var/www/vhosts/ardleighbedandbreakfast.co.uk/httpdocs/wp-content.

    Thanks for responding

  • /wp-content
    chmod this folder to 777

    go to
    admin – settings – miscellanious
    set your uploads folder there
    do an upload
after success – chmod folder back to 755
    should work from now on

Hi Samboll, thanks for this but can you please explain the chmod part?
    I’m not familiar with that.
    Thanks

chmod is a *nix command for changing file permissions. If you are using FileZilla login, right click on the folder and look for ‘File Permissions’ at the bottom of the pop-up. You’ll get a set of checkboxes. Check them all. You should notice that the ‘Numeric Value’ now reads 777.

Both you guys are great, thanks a lot!
