Can this theme be totally non-block?

    Hi, I love the theme and wanted to use it, but then realized it is built using Blocks, which is always causing confusion to me and bloating posts with loads of code (text view).

    I did install the Classic Editor and Classic Widgets plugins, but I still could not find how to edit the home page until I clicked on Edit site and Gutenberg showed up. As expected it’s confusing.

    I’ve been using WP since the mid 2000, so the Blocks are not how I learned to create sites. And try as I might, I never get the hang of it.

    Can this theme be used without Blocks entirely or will it collapse?

    Hi @styzer Minimalistix is a block theme, it cannot be made into a Classic theme.

    It’s a good time to learn how to use Block Themes, but if you want to avoid it all costs then consider using the theme Minimalistblogger or Minimalistique instead.

    Thank you for the prompt reply. I actually found Minimalistblogger last night and started using it.

    It is embarrassing to admit the incompatibility I have working with Blocks. The concept wants to be universal, until you need to make minor adjustments that used to be simple. Now you have to contend with forests of codes in the backend and I did spend/wasted many hours trying to make it do what I want without success. Not for me. It works if you don’t need a customizations, is my experience.

    But I also noticed the Classic Editor has 10 millions active installations, and the WordPress Blocks idea is still in a kind of beta version or early stages, and if you look into it, does not rally everyone.

    Completely understandable.

    We’ve actually made a lot of stuff to easen the process for people who’s having issues customizing it as they want in our premium suite.
