Can see info on dashboard but not on page

I hope that somebody can help.
I will start with the problem and then explain how I got there:

Problem:
When I login to the dashboard all the information is there – posts/pages and media files BUT if I view a post or page I get the hello world default page. Why are my pages not showing properly?

How did this happen
I have created a site and need to move it to a new host so I decided to do a test run. I tried moving the files and database from one folder on the test domain to another and followed the steps on this website: http://www.northernpride.com/blog/website-design/how-to-move-your-wordpress-site-to-new-server/

Have completed all the steps. Test the site and discovered the problem.

Any ideas why this is happening?
