can not upload files to media library. get http error

For the last month, we have not been able to upload any file to the media library via the add file button. I just started trying little files around 60 kb and they will upload. I tried a 150 kb file and it would not upload.
All we get is and HTTP ERROR.
This just started with the last WordPress update I believe.
Any help would be awesome as our church secretary is going nuts not being able to upload the bulletins or anything….
