  • I’m not sure you’ve got the process right. That, or you’re using the wrong terminology.

Before you can extract the WordPress archive with WinRAR, you need to first download it. But you’re asking how to download it AFTER extracting with WinRAR. Maybe you mean how to UPLOAD it instead?

Now it appears you want to move from a WordPress.com hosted site to a self-hosted site at Bluehost.

If you haven’t done so already, take a look at the excellent guide here: https://move.wordpress.com/

Step two in the above guide is to install WordPress at your chosen host (BlueHost).

The full MANUAL installation process is detailed here: https://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress

But in your case, I *believe* BlueHost has a so-called 1-CLICK auto-installer in your cPanel hosting control panel, so you don’t need to follow the manual installation procedure of downloading and uploading the WordPress file and fidgeting with MySQL database at all. Follow the instructions here, from the horse’s own mouth: https://www.bluehost.com/blog/educational/start-your-blog-or-site-in-5-minutes-with-wordpress-2838/

Hope this helps. If you still need further direction, feel free to ask.

Just wanted to add that Bluehost also has a blog post on migrating from wordpress.com to a self hosted site (wordpress.org) https://www.bluehost.com/help/article/migrating-an-existing-wordpress-com-site

    Guten Tag zusammen

    Gruss
    Chris

@akustikform You should visit https://de.wordpress.org/support/ for assistance and not post in other’s topics, especially links to your website that can be considered spam.

@akustikform Ja.

In the WP community you will also find many Germans.
Regarding your question: Your website is currently based on Jimdo. It’s nice that you have decided on something more reasonable with WP.

There is a service that promises to migrate one CMS to another.
Even though I wouldn’t call Jimdo “CMS”, http://cms2cms.com seems to be able to do exactly that from Jimdo to WP. What you would probably need is the content (post and pages) as an XML file.
If you choose WP, it makes sense to install WP first, select a theme and then start importing the content (from XML).

If you need help, feel free to write me: nlappenbusch@gmail.com
