Thanks for reaching out @kmudigitalisierung. So we can determine more on what may be happening in relation to some sites not being able to display GA4 data, please share your Site Health information for one of these impacted sites. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.
What may be happening is a security plugin or hosting feature is blocking background updates, or it’s possible that on these sites data is still being gathered or Universal Analytics reporting is enabled, as opposed to GA4. We’ll know more once we have the Site Health information as requested above.
Let me know if you have any questions on this.
Update. I can see that you shared your Site Health information for one of these impacted sites. From reviewing the details I can see that you don’t have the GA4 reporting feature enabled. This is likely due to background update issues with your site. To determine whether this is the case, please share your Site Health status (Tools > Site Health > Status), which differs to your Site Health information. This would include details of any issues with background checks.
Where an how can I the GA4 reporting feature enable?
Thanks for the update @kmudigitalisierung. Based on your information, something is blocking background updates on your site. While I can’t be sure what’s blocking such updates, please follow the steps below:
- Install and activate the WP Crontrol plugin
- Navigate to “Settings > Cron Schedules” and click on the “Cron Events” tab
- Scroll down to the
googlesitekit_cron_update_remote_features
hook event and click on “run now”
- Share your Site Health information once more so I can check if this manual action forced this update
Let me know if you have any questions with the above.
This helped, thanks! I’ll open a new thread for other website. Thanks for helping me solving this.
Glad to hear it @kmudigitalisierung, appreciate the update. Based on your experience we’ll also be working on a way to ensure feature updates are not only achieved through background updates.
If you run into any further issues, be sure to reach out. If you have a moment free please also consider sharing your thoughts on the plugin as a user on multiple client sites.
