  • Have been running my wordpress site for a while now and have recently got this message when i try to backup and update:

Warning: fopen(D:/walkingforward.co.uk/wwwroot/wp-content/backup/.htaccess) [function.fopen.php]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in D:\walkingforward.co.uk\wwwroot\wp-content\plugins\backupwordpress\functions.php on line 377
    Cannot open file (D:/walkingforward.co.uk/wwwroot/wp-content/backup/.htaccess)
Warning: fwrite(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in D:\walkingforward.co.uk\wwwroot\wp-content\plugins\backupwordpress\functions.php on line 381
    Cannot write to file (D:/walkingforward.co.uk/wwwroot/wp-content/backup/.htaccess)
Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in D:\walkingforward.co.uk\wwwroot\wp-content\plugins\backupwordpress\functions.php on line 385

wordpress during one error message told me to delete and recreate the folder backup-e7cc4 which i did but it had no effect.
Any ideas would be most welcome as i’m at my wits end…

  • Follow up to previous message.
Turning off plugins and turning them back on seemed to fix above problem.
The actual problem i am stuck with is this message when attempting a backup:
Warning: touch() [function.touch.php]: Unable to create file D:\walkingforward.co.uk\wwwroot/wp-content/wordpress-311.tmp because Permission denied in D:\walkingforward.co.uk\wwwroot\wp-admin\includes\file.php on line 199

    It is getting desperate now…

talk to your host and ask them where they need to create the .tmp file
    show them the error message
