    Hi Team Webp Coverter,

I’ve had one question in my mind for months that I always upload compressed images on my server. I don’t use any compression plugin to do the task. So, whenever I used any plugin, the size of the images recompressed actually increased.

Can I use this plugin for webp conversion? Will it affect size and increase it for pre-compressed images?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello @varunpahwa,

    Thanks for your message.

If you have compressed your pictures before, converting to WebP will not give such effects. However, you have nothing to worry about – if a photo in WebP format happens to be larger than your compressed original, the smaller image will always be loaded.

    Hi Mateusz,

Here’s one more query that I have. As mentioned in plugin details, if a browser isn’t compatible with webp, the website shows equivalent jpg format. So, if I don’t use any image compression and just use webp converter, do the incompatible browsers serve uncompressed jpg and png images?

Is it possible to compress the image sizes along with conversion to webp?

One such feature is offered by imagify i.e. to compress images along with serving webp. So, can I use any other plugin combined with your plugin to do the same task for free?

Waiting for reply from your side.

    Regards,
    Varun

@varunpahwa Using several plugins for one operation is not optimal. Better choose one and use it. Compressing images means a loss of quality. If you then convert them to WebP, the effects will not be that big and you will lose the quality of the images.
