  • Resolved shankey

    Hello Support,
My Website original Language is English. But i want to set a Default Language Spanish, So whenever a user open my website, it shows in Spanish language. Can we force this to open in Spanish language only with this plugin, without giving a option to user to change the language manually.
If its possible, please let me know how can i do it.

If this plugin doesn’t have this feature, can anyone suggest any other plugin, which will do this.

    Thanks in advance.

Hi shankey, I can force the translation automatically, but it will load very quickly ONLY after the page loads in English first. So user will see English for split second, and then I can force it to Spanish translation automatically. And this will work on every page afterward by use of browser cookies, although it will load in default English for split second on every page, then translate to Spanish.

I might suggest that you check into using WordPress language files. You can actually change the default language of your website without any plugins, although I believe this will also change your Dashboard to Spanish as well. But then you can use plugin to see your WordPress Dashboard to be English if you want.

Are you wanting to get rid of English completely from your website?

If so, I would use WordPress language files to serve up your website in Spanish only.

Let me know if I can help further.

    Thanks, Rob

    Thanks Rob for quick response.
    Basically I need this.
Right Now My Website is designed in English and whole content is in English.

I used this Plugin, Right now if user want to change the Language in Spanish, He need to select the Spanish Option from Google Translator Plugin Option

But If its possible, I need that, When a user come on my site, My site shows in Spanish instead of English. No manual work required by User.

Is it possible? I checked the code and found, the only option to change the language is happening by onclick Javascript code.

If its possible, Please guide me, I will update the code accordingly.

Hi shankey, unfortunately my plugin is likely not best for what you need. Although I could get close to what you want, it would take longer than another plugin that has language files and serves Spanish page immediately to your users.

So my plugin is not the most seamless solution.

I would look into using a plugin that provides immediate translation by using language files. Then when user comes to your site, they would see Spanish from the very beginning, based on a “Spanish” language file that is installed in your WordPress directory.

WordPress is actually ready-built for language files. You can see here what you need to do in order to serve up a Spanish website from the start:

Let me know if I can help your further on this. Thanks, Rob

Hi shankey, did you ever get this figured out? I have a solution that will auto-translate your site to Spanish on page load if needed. Let me know if that interests you.

    Thanks, Rob

Hi Rob, I’m interested to auto-translate my site from English to Chinese on the page load as you’ve mentioned on you previous post. Is it possible to share your solution with me? By the way, thanks for a very useful plugin.
