I’ve searched many threads and haven’t seen a conclusive answer. I’m trying to edit my pages with the visual editor and it seems to randomly remove some of my paragraph spacing. Sometimes it leaves it alone and sometimes it doesn’t. Is there a way I can tell it to preserve paragraph and line break spacing?

Try: <br class=”blank” /> for a hard line feed – paste in the html view.

WordPress has it’s own ideas about spacing between paragraphs – strips extra out – it is a sore spot with many users.

    rwilki,

You might try downloading the tinymce-advanced plugin which has an option to maintain <p> and <br /> tags.

Disable the visual editor. Whenever you switch between the visual and code editor, stuff like that tends to break down. Just have a preview of the web page open as your visual. Hope that helps.

    Dear rwiki,

This is one of the most frustrating problems that I regularly encounter in WordPress blogs. You add paragraph marks in your pages or posts, and you click “Update” or “Save”, the paragraph marks disappear! This is not good. There is a lot of litterature of this problem on the Web and I don’t know why it keeps popping up in newer versions.

The basic WordPress Editor is very basic. There are several good editor plugin-ins that will not have this problem.

The one that I use to circumvent this problem is Dean’s FCKEditor for WordPress. Install it on your blog and see whether you like it of not.

    Hope this helps.
