I’m not clear on how to make the blog component of my site appear only in the menu. When I go to admin/settings/reading, and select for the posts page to be the page I created and titled ‘blog’, it overrides the beautiful homepage and places it there. I’ve placed a ‘blog’ page in my menu, but how do I make my posts go there?

    Thank you.

  • Re-using rdellconsulting’s wonderful summary:

Go to Customiz’it! > Front Page
Front Page can point to either a Static Page or your Latest Posts. So there are a few combinations that can be set (Home & Blog refer to Pages):
    1) Front page displays: Don’t show any posts or page
    2) Front page displays: your latest posts =Displays posts
    3) Front page displays: A static Page
    Posts page: –Select–
    Front page: –Select– =Displays posts
    4) Front page displays: A static Page
    Posts page: –Select–
Front page: Home =Displays static page
    5) Front page displays: A static Page
    Posts page: Blog
    Front page: –Select– =Displays posts
    6) Front page displays: A static Page
    Posts page: Blog
Front page: Home =Displays static page

You need option 6. The “blog” you place in the menu does, of course need to point to the blank “blog” page you set up.

Thank you. The only issue here is that (on option 6), The Front Page option does not show the option for Home =Displays static page. Do I have to create a page called home? And how will I make it point to my actual home page?

So, I just created a page called home and it worked! Thank you ElectricFeet!
