Support » Networking WordPress » Can I modularly update sites in a multisite network?

  • Say I’m running a number of websites on a multisite network-let’s just say 5 to 20 for the sake of this example. If I understand correctly, I would update the network to the latest version of WordPress and then choose to either update the whole network at once or update each site individually. This would allow me to review functionality and plugin support on a site by site basis. Is this correct?

My concern is that if I have several sites running on the network, I would want to be able to update them separately to make sure everything works before moving on to the next one.

    Not really.

You upgrade the files for everyone at once. Very rarely do the DB changes cause any impact, and the brunt will be those files changing.
